I am supporting the March of Dimes in the fight for the health of all moms and babies. Black women die or nearly die from complications from pregnancy or childbirth at enormously high rates. Our babies are at 50% higher risk for preterm birth. And, preterm birth places our children at higher risk for a range of health issues and developmental disabilities. The March of Dimes is at the forefront of moms and babies having a healthy start.
During this global health crisis, children like my little one who have chronic health conditions and respiratory illnesses are more vulnerable than ever. I am personally grateful for the work of the March of Dimes. That's why I will be (virtually) marching to support this critical work. I march for all the preemies born too soon and the families and care teams working so hard for their survival. I march for all the babies we have lost but never forgotten. I march for health justice.
The funds I raise enable March of Dimes to support research, lead programs and provide education and advocacy that truly makes a difference to families in our community and across the country. If you believe, like I do, that every baby deserves the best possible start, please march with me or make a donation to support this community effort. Together we can fight for the health of all moms and babies.
Two babies die every hour in the U.S. And about every 12 hours a woman dies as a result of complications from pregnancy.
It's not fine. That's why we March for Babies.
We march to end maternal death. We march for babies born too soon. We march for babies we have lost. We march for moms-to-be. And we march for health equity.
Join the fight for healthy moms and strong babies, and make a difference for families everywhere!
