I joined the movement to create positive change for moms and babies everywhere, especially those most at risk. With preterm birth and maternal death rates continuing to rise, I’m committed to raising funds so that every family gets the best possible start. 

Almost 18 years ago I was pregnant for the third time.  I knew something was different but not until my 16th week did I discover why.  Pregnant with identical twins!  Being a Women's Health Nurse I knew that added extra risks for both me and my babies.  I was then closely monitored and the pregnancy seemed to be progressing well.  Then one day something just did not "feel right"  I tried to sleep, by the morning I had my husband take me to the hospital.  Although both babies seemed to be OK at that time.  I was lucky enough to have my care team listen to me.  I was admitted for Preterm Labor and monitored overnight.  By the morning, a nurse recognized one baby's heart rate kept dipping.  My doctors quickly did an ultrasound and took me for an Emergency C-section.  I will forever br thankful to Dr. Juan.  Within the hour Jill and Jess had arrived.  Quickly born the same minute.  

After birth it was obvious something was not right in the womb.  Jess had lesions, unsure what from.  She was thouroughly worked up and monitored for everything possible.  In hindsight, Jill was squishing Jess.  Without quick intervention from my OB team, Jill would have lost her best friend. They spent 4 and  5 weeks in the Intensive Care Nursery. They were able to grow and learn to live outside the womb while geting  life saving care.  They came home healthy and are now on their way to college!  Help me, help other Parents and Babies who are at risk..
