We joined the March of Dimes March for Babies because this mission is personal to our family.
Our son Jacob was born at just 26 weeks—a micro preemie, a surviving twin. We lost his sister, Jacinda, only 30 minutes after she was born. I held her in my hands as she went from warm to cold… a moment that stays with you forever.
In the midst of that pain, we also experienced hope. The support, care, and programs connected to March of Dimes were part of the journey that carried our son through 90 days in the NICU.
Today, Jacob is a vibrant, intelligent 10-year-old. He’s on the spectrum, and when you look into his eyes… you just melt. He is our reminder of what’s possible when families are given a fighting chance.
As the Gonzales family, we’re proud to walk on March 18th—not just in memory of Jacinda, but in honor of Jacob, and for every family still in the fight.
We’re asking you to join us.
Support our walk. Share this mission. Help us give more babies the chance our son had.
Because this isn’t about changing the whole world overnight…
It’s about changing the world of one baby in need at a time.
March of Dimes is dedicated to bringing people together to tackle America's maternal and infant health crisis—one person, one community, and one step at a time. More than a series of walks, March for Babies is an annual tradition that supports moms and babies every day, every step of the way.
March for Babies connects friends, families, and coworkers to improve the health of families nationwide. Together with March of Dimes, each step forward brings us closer to a healthy future for all.
Thank you for your support!
