For years, my dream of becoming a mother felt just out of reach. I struggled with infertility and, after finally having our healthy first baby, experienced the heartbreak of multiple miscarriages as we tried to grow our family. Throughout that journey, I learned how fragile pregnancy can be and how deeply families need support, answers, and advances in maternal and infant health.

When I eventually became pregnant with our twins, joy came with equal part fear. But thanks to incredible medical care - guided in part by research and education funded by the March of Dimes - I was able to carry my babies to 36 weeks, despite multiple risk factors. While they each had a very short stay in the NICU to clear their lungs and stabilize their breathing, they were soon back at my side, and I’ll never stop being grateful for the science, advocacy, and resources that helped make such a happy and healthy experience possible.

Because of my own family’s story, and maybe even more so because of the stories of several friends of mine (you know who you are!), I’m proud to be captaining a company team this year for the DC March for Babies. It's the perfect opportunity to walk the walk as both a member of Corporate Synergies Group's CARES Committee as well as a member of the DC March for Babies Executive Leadership Committee.

This cause is deeply personal to me, and I would love for you to be part of it.
