At 25 weeks I started experiencing visual change, with my blood pressure 220/118 at home, I messaged our doctor who stated to come in. Within 20 minutes of arrival I developed severe eclampsia, with Tonic-Clonic seizures that could not be controlled. Within two hours of arriving Kolter made his grand appearance via emergency c-section. Without our medical team we would not be here today. Kolter spent 124 days in NICU, and has many challenges still facing him. However he has never quit fighting.
With preterm birth and maternal death rates continuing to rise, I never want a family to feel how we felt. I didn’t think we would make it back home, but our team so well educated thanks to opportunities like this!
