Olivia’s Journey

When Olivia was born, she came into the world far too early- 3.5 months ahead of schedule, weighing only 1.5 pounds. It was a time of worry and uncertainty for our family. For over three months, Olivia fought hard in the hospital, a tiny but mighty newborn surrounded by machines and medical staff who gave everything they had to help her grow stronger every day.

Each day, we watched her progress, but it was a rollercoaster of emotions. It wasn’t just her fight—it was a fight for our entire family, as we gathered to support her, pray for her, and keep the hope alive that this tiny little girl would one day thrive and show the world her strength.

And she did. Olivia not only overcame the odds, but she flourished in ways we couldn’t have imagined during those early, uncertain days. Today, she stands as a proud Marine, a testament to her resilience and determination. And now, as a mother herself, Olivia is showing her son the same strength, courage, and love that got her through her own difficult start in life.

Her journey is why I’m here today, joining the March for Dimes. Olivia’s story is one of triumph, of how medical research and the right care at the right time can make all the difference. It’s a reminder of the importance of fighting for every baby, so they too have the chance to grow, thrive, and reach their full potential.
