I joined the movement due to my own high risk journey to motherhood. I became pregnant with Twin girls in April 2019, eventually put on bed rest but by October I began to leak fluid. I was admitted into the hospital until I gave birth in November.
My babies were born via c-section, 11 weeks early, weighing less than 3lbs. Overall the girls spent 2 months in the NICU which was both the hardest part of my life and a miracle. Although, the first miracle was in June 1988 when I was born. I was born about 3 months early, weighing less than 2lbs and called a "Miracle baby". It was truly a blessing that I was able to fight for life to later give life to two beautiful girls.
Sadly, this is not the outcome for many women and babies which is why I want to create positive change, especially for those most at risk. With preterm birth and maternal death rates continuing to rise, I’m committed to raising funds so that every family gets the best possible start. But I need your help.

March of Dimes is dedicated to bringing people together to tackle America's maternal and infant health crisis—one person, one community, and one step at a time. More than a series of walks, March for Babies is an annual tradition that supports moms and babies every day, every step of the way.
March for Babies connects friends, families, and coworkers to improve the health of families nationwide. Together with March of Dimes, each step forward brings us closer to a healthy future for all.
