As a NICU nurse for 17 years, I have worked to help make a difference in the care of neonates. I also have an amazing 4 year old niece, Isla, born with Down syndrome and duodenal atresia who, since I originally began my March of Dimes journey 3 years ago, has been through more than any child should ever have to endure. She had surgical complications in June 2024 leading to months in the hospital, a short gut diagnosis, ostomy, central line, and TPN dependence. Thankfully, she is a spunky as ever, gaining back strength, working to come off TPN, and making us smile everyday. This year I am also walking for a tiny but mighty little premie princess, Lennon Rose, born at 26 weeks and still fighting her way through her NICU course. Isla, Lennon, my own 2 children (Nico and Róisín), and the babies in our NICU motivate me every day to help improve maternal and child health worldwide.

March of Dimes is dedicated to bringing people together to tackle America's maternal and infant health crisis—one person, one community, and one step at a time. More than a series of walks, March for Babies is an annual tradition that supports moms and babies every day, every step of the way.
March for Babies connects friends, families, and coworkers to improve the health of families nationwide. Together with March of Dimes, each step forward brings us closer to a healthy future for all.
