My husband and I experienced every parent’s greatest heartbreak when we lost our daughter Caroline after an extremely premature delivery. She fought so hard, and her strength stays with me every single day. Walking in her memory is my way of turning grief into purpose. No family should have to face the fear of a NICU, the uncertainty of preterm birth, or the devastation of losing a child too soon. Yet every year, hundreds of thousands of babies are born too early, and too many families walk the road we have walked. The March of Dimes funds the research, education, and support that give premature babies a fighting chance and gives families like mine hope. For our sweet Caroline.
