I walk to celebrate Reese and to honor Noah. Babies born at 22 weeks rarely survive and if so, they often have significant complications because they were simply born far too soon. I was not given a reason as to why I went into labor so early and that's really difficult. I'm walking to help fight prematurity so other families don't have to face the loss of their baby or spend 125 days in the NICU. These little miracles fight so hard, so anything we can do to make it easier is a huge win.
I also walk to celebrate Owen. Because of the research provided by the March of Dimes, I was able to have a healthy pregnancy and carry Owen to 35 weeks and 4 days! He was strong and came home with us 36 hours later!
Premature birth affects about 380,000 babies here in the United States. Please make a secure donation to help me reach my goal. Together we can help the March of Dimes fight prematurity so more babies can get the strongest start possible.
March of Dimes is dedicated to bringing people together to tackle America's maternal and infant health crisis—one person, one community, and one step at a time. More than a series of walks, March for Babies is an annual tradition that supports moms and babies every day, every step of the way.
March for Babies connects friends, families, and coworkers to improve the health of families nationwide. Together with March of Dimes, each step forward brings us closer to a healthy future for all.
