Right now, babies need all the help they can get. Premature birth affects close to 400k babies here in the United States. In addition, maternal mortality has only increased since 2018 - when my son was born prematurely, and the team at Endeavor Highland Park saved both of our lives.
This year I’m walking in March for Babies as part of the Chicago Associate Board's Care Affinity Group. This group has come together to honor NICU families, and although my son was early and spent time in observation in the nursery - he was not in the NICU. I'm walking to honor the NICU graduates closest to my heart, the mighty minis Miriam, Jaime and Ali brought into this world.
