My husband and I delt with infertility, and after almost 3 years of trying and treatments, we became pregnant with Andrew. We got the joy of seeing his little heartbeat, and began planning our life with our little one. At 12 weeks 4 days we went in for a routine prenatal appointment, during which they could not find a heartbeat. Our little one had passed away at 10 weeks. Even worse, it was Friday, and there were no spots for a D&C until Monday. This procedure was recommended, because he had been gone for so long. My life was at risk, and I had been living with my son dead inside me for 3 weeks. At 13 weeks, we said goodbye to our little one. 7 months later, we became pregnant with Haven after a 6 month break from treatments. We spent the whole pregnancy anxious, and at 38 weeks we went into labor. After 4 years, 44 hours of labor, and a C-section, we finally had our child we dreamed of. Unfortunately Haven aspirated amniotic fluid, and was in the NICU for 2 weeks being treated for pneumonia. This included being intubated within 24 hours of birth. He came home on his due date,and was on oxygen for another 2 weeks. We now have a strong and healthy baby boy, but it was not without emense struggles. We are currently working through secondary infertility, and in November 2025 we suffered an etopic pregnancy rupture that nearly took my life, resulting in emergency surgery and the removal of one of my tubes.
