On 2/2/19 my granddaughter came into the world weighing 1 pound 1.8 ounces. We were blessed to have her with us for 17 days and then she went to Baby Heaven. She will forever be in my hear,t Jordan Denise. I raise funds and will march in her honor on Saturday, April 25, 2026. Always in my heart ❤️.
In California, as in many other states, health disparities within the African American community are a critical issue, according to a March of Dimes statement. While there is no single cause of preterm birth, research shows that chronic inequities and unequal access to quality health care do hurt these rates. The preterm birth rate for black women in Los Angeles County, already unacceptable high, increased to 12.8% from 12.1% -- which is 66 percent higher than the rate of white women, according to the statement.
March of Dimes is dedicated to bringing people together to tackle America's maternal and infant health crisis—one person, one community, and one step at a time. More than a series of walks, March for Babies is an annual tradition that supports moms and babies every day, every step of the way.
March for Babies connects friends, families, and coworkers to improve the health of families nationwide. Together with March of Dimes, each step forward brings us closer to a healthy future for all.
