I support the March for Babies because our tiny baby would not have survived without the March of Dimes grantees' Surfactant Therapy, developed in 1985; DD's undeveloped lungs were collapsed as many babies born 15 weeks early experience and she was unable to breathe. Surprise! I am a mommy of a micro preemie born at 25 weeks, just 13" long, weighing 1# 10oz! Several medical professionals warned me that I would never be a mom; the March of Dimes granted me the greatest miracle of all: babies breath.
I support my great niece, angel baby Serenity, born at 28 weeks, her short life reiterates how fragile the tiny lungs are and how vital propper training and equipment is for the medical team trusted to advocate for life.
I support my great nephew Isaiah, born at 24 weeks and celebrating his first birthday soon.
I support Papa Dan who is finally able to walk without braces; fortunately, his affliction is seldom heard of with the eradication of Polio.
I support the friends I have made through the March for Babies network and all of you whose lives have been impacted.
Thank you for helping me give all babies a healthy start, mother's a healthy pregnancy, and doctors the research and technology to save precious lives so that another woman can hear that little voice proclaim, "I love you, mommy"!
March of Dimes is dedicated to bringing people together to tackle America's maternal and infant health crisis—one person, one community, and one step at a time. More than a series of walks, March for Babies is an annual tradition that supports moms and babies every day, every step of the way.
March for Babies connects friends, families, and coworkers to improve the health of families nationwide. Together with March of Dimes, each step forward brings us closer to a healthy future for all.
Thank you for your support!
