I walk for babies born too soon, too small, and for families who carry both love and loss.
My own journey includes eleven pregnancies — three children I get to raise Earthside, and many babies I only got to hold for a brief time. I experienced a stillbirth, Evelyn June, at 21 weeks, the loss of a full-term infant at eight weeks of life named Mary Grace that lived her entire life in the OHSU Doernbecher NICU, and six early pregnancy losses.
These experiences are why March for Babies is not just an event to me — it is personal, sacred, and deeply rooted in remembrance and hope.
As a NICU family support professional, I now walk beside families living these same realities every day. I see the strength of premature babies, the grief of loss, and the fierce love that never leaves a parent’s heart. Casey’s Crew was created to honor all of these stories — the babies here, the babies gone too soon, and the families forever changed by them.
