My son Jack was born 6 weeks early on January 16, 2008 and died 9 days later on January 25th due to Ebsteins Anomaly, a rare and serious heart defect. Though being born premature did not cause his death, it did not help. After Jack's death, I felt a strong need to honor my beautiful boy in some way. One of the hardest things was to come home from the hospital and see the empty nursery. It was heart wrenching to see bags of baby clothes that would never be worn, a crib that would never be slept in...all those months of preparation for my baby that would never come home.
I am also walking in honor of my daughter Eva. I was 13 weeks and 5 days into my pregnancy with her when my water broke unexpectedly and she passed away in utereo. She passed away January 27, 2019. The only answer the Dr could provide was "sometimes these things just happen".
I decided to participate in the March of Dimes walks in honor of Jack and Eva with the hopes that even the small amount of money I raise would be enough to help a family not go through what me and my family went through. If I could raise enough so that even 1 family does not have to come home to any empty nursery, I will consider my efforts a success. Thank you.
