Dear Friends, Christmas 2010, our good friend and fellow teacher Leila Manning gave birth to twin boys - a joyful moment tempered by their premature arrival at only 24 weeks (16 weeks early). The two boys, Liam and Ewan, weighed under two pounds each, and have had a series of health problems related to their premature birth. Liam . Ewan struggled with a series of infections, surgeries and blood transfusions and survived only 75 days. Liam went home in April and is celebrating many new milestones and adventures. In order to show our support for Leila, her husband Scott, and Liam, we will be joining a group of friends, family, and co-workers in walking the March of Dimes March for Babies on April 28 in memory of Ewan Rendleman. Every day, thousands of babies are born too soon, too small and often very sick. Our team is walking in March for Babies because we want to do something about this. I know you care, too.
