Fourty years ago, I entered the world on January 2, three months premature. My early arrival came with significant challenges: underdeveloped lungs, asthma, jaundice, and other complications that kept me in the hospital for three months. During that time and beyond, I faced life-threatening moments, even flatlining twice before my first birthday.
Growing up, I continued to battle the effects of asthma, which often worsened any minor respiratory illness I caught. Despite these struggles, I persevered—and I owe much of that resilience to the support of organizations like March for Babies.
The cost of my hospital care totaled $87,000, a staggering amount for any family to bear. March for Babies and similar organizations play a crucial role in helping families navigate these overwhelming challenges. Their efforts not only save lives but also give premature babies the chance to thrive.
Thanks to the care I received and the support of others, I achieved my dream of attending Howard University and becoming an architect. My story is a testament to the power of hope, determination, and the work of organizations like March for Babies.
This year, my goal is to raise $1,000 for this incredible cause, and I would be deeply grateful for your support. Together, we can help ensure more families receive the help they need during one of the most difficult times in their lives. Every contribution makes a difference.
Will you join me in making an impact?
