On June 10, 2005 at 1130 pm I gave birth to a beautiful angel. Thomas Allen was tiny, but looked perfect to me. For reasons I will never know, he developed a condition called encepholy. I was completely devestated. But I was blessed with 3 healthy boys. I felt the need to do something in memory of Thomas. I tried support groups but I wanted something more. Then I thought about the March of Dimes. I started with getting involved in walks. My sons and i walk every year. I also had the opportunity to go and meet with representatives and senators about the March of Dimes, the Florida birth defects registry, and to share Thomas' story. I love being part of March of Dimes. I am always willing to share my story and raise awareness about birth defects. I hope and pray that someday these things will be prevented. One day... all babies will be born healthy today... too many moms and families know the heartbreak of having a baby born fighting to survive.
