Julia marches for little Naomi

On March 18 Naomi turns two!

It's been beyond frustrating to see first-hand how this broken healthcare system and policies negatively affects families. In addition, the lack of investment and research in maternal/infant health has led to staggering statics such as: a woman today is twice as more likely to die in childbirth than her mother a generation ago. I am determined to change these stats and poor outcomes for Naomi and all other future moms and babies.

I am grateful to have your support which helps programs in Massachusetts like our NICU family support program at BMC, educating healthcare workers on implicit bias training, advocacy to for mothers to have better access to post partum mental health services. If you are wondering what amount to donate (any amount is apprecaited!) here are a few levels of inspiration:

  • $13 (1 in 10 babies are born prematurely but for women of color this increases to 1 in 3)
  • $89 (Since 2018 Maternal Mortality Rates have increased by 89%)
  • $220 (2.2 Million women live in maternity care deserts - driving 2 hours+ for care)

When it comes to giving families the best possible start, we all have the power to help.

March of Dimes is dedicated to bringing people together to tackle America's maternal and infant health crisis—one person, one community, and one step at a time. More than a series of walks, March for Babies is an annual tradition that supports moms and babies every day, every step of the way.

March for Babies connects friends, families, and coworkers to improve the health of families nationwide. Together with March of Dimes, each step forward brings us closer to a healthy future for all.

Thank you for your support!
