That's a real quote from a woman in this country.
7 million women of childbearing age live in maternity care deserts, where there’s limited or no access to maternity healthcare services. The stark reality is that the U.S. remains among the most dangerous developed nations for childbirth, especially for women and babies of color.
Each year, one woman dies every 12 hours from pregnancy-related causes, and 1 in 10 babies is born too soon. Black women are three times more likely to die from pregnancy-related causes compared to White women.
This is unacceptable, but together, we can make change happen. The funds I raise help March of Dimes support research, lead programs, and provide education and advocacy so that every family can have a healthy pregnancy and baby.
