Why I walk

On October 1, 2010 at 28 weeks gestation, Jackson Willox was brought into this world via STAT C-section due to placental abruption. Weighing only 2 pounds and 8 ounces, Jax spent 59 days in the NICU at Memorial Hermann hospital. On November 29, 2010, we brought our 4 pound 12 ounce, healthy baby boy home to join the rest of the Folh crew. Today he is 13 years old, healthy and happy! His pediatrician says "Preemie, what preemie?!" Our story is short of a miracle. The team at Hermann Hospital in Women's Services and NICU made it possible to have such a miraculous outcome. As a Registered Nurse in the pediatric hospital, I know all too well the devastating effects of prematurity on the lives of the infant and the family. I'm walking to support March of Dimes, as the research and funding has made it possible to expand our knowledge and practice to save these babies that, just a short time ago, were considered unsaveable. Please support me as I support March of Dimes continue the same miracles that we have been so blessed with.

When it comes to giving families the best possible start, we all have the power to help.

March of Dimes is dedicated to bringing people together to tackle America's maternal and infant health crisis—one person, one community, and one step at a time. More than a series of walks, March for Babies is an annual tradition that supports moms and babies every day, every step of the way.

March for Babies connects friends, families, and coworkers to improve the health of families nationwide. Together with March of Dimes, each step forward brings us closer to a healthy future for all.

Thank you for your support!
