Due to preeclampsia, the girls came bursting into the world 6 weeks ahead of schedule. I wasn't ready. On top of everything else I had gone through to get them here (IVF, etc.) leaving the hospital without either of my double blessings was one of the hardest things I've EVER had to do. I'm not sure what I would have done without the NICU nurses taking care of them for me, at a time when I couldn't. Without their care, and research and donations from the March of Dimes, the outcome may have been very different.
