💜 On July 9th, 2023, our families' lives changed in a way we never expected. Our grand-daughter, Maeve, was born at 33 weeks. It was one of the most frightening days of our lives. We watched as our daughter and son-in-law navigated the next chapter of their lives. Maeve’s life began with a 54 day stay in the Special Care Nursey. Maeve’s mom and dad’s next 54 days consisted of learning medical terminology, medical testing, x-rays, blood transfusions, studies and the constant monitoring of vital signs.  They handled this incredibly scary time with grace and compassion, they were able to do this with the support they received from the staff of the Special Care Nursery. While there were so many uncertain days, there was one thing that we were always sure of, Maeve was so loved and that she was going to change so many people's lives. 

Maeve is now a little spitfire, running around after animals, repeating every word she hears, collecting precious rocks, pinecones and sticks and making us smile and laugh every day. 

We are truly Blessed.

There will never be enough words to thank the staff of the Special Care Nursery that not only cared for Maeve, but cared for her family, as well.

I am walking in the March for Babies, so that every family navigating these uncertain times can feel as loved and supported, as Maeve’s family was.
