It's that time of year again! March for Babies- the 5K Walk that fights for the health of all moms and babies. This year is extra special. In December, I celebrated 25 years of service with March of Dimes - a huge milestone and goal achieved - all in the name of fighting for healthier moms and babies. Over the years I have met many families who have been impacted by our work -- and this year our mission is more urgent than ever. There has never been a more important time to be a part of our mission - Moms and babies can’t wait, pregnancy won’t wait. With preterm birth and maternal death rates continuing to rise, the U.S. remains among the most dangerous developed nations for childbirth, especially for women and babies of color.
Stories of loss, miscarriage and even maternal death are commonplace today and we won't stop until every baby is born healthy. I am grateful for March of Dimes because of the life-saving research but also because they are the only ones advocating that every mom and every baby should have a chance to survive and thrive. Our two girls, Alisha and Zara were born full-term and healthy - I thank March of Dimes for that.
I walk in honor of my nephews Shaun and Dylan who were born premature and my dear friends' twins Aanya and Kayden who were also preemie superheroes.
Please support my fundraising efforts and the amazing work of this organization!
March of Dimes is dedicated to bringing people together to tackle America's maternal and infant health crisis—one person, one community, and one step at a time. More than a series of walks, March for Babies is an annual tradition that supports moms and babies every day, every step of the way.
March for Babies connects friends, families, and coworkers to improve the health of families nationwide. Together with March of Dimes, each step forward brings us closer to a healthy future for all.
Thank you for your support!
