The Thayer Family is joining the March for Babies for our baby, Levi.
When Levi arrived, he wasn’t quite ready for the world yet. We stayed in the NICU for 56 days total. That first week was a blur of medical terms we never wanted to learn: bradycardia, desaturation, intubation. We sat by his isolette, watching the numbers on the screen rise and fall, praying for them to stabilize. His lungs needed help since they were underdeveloped. Thankfully we didn't need to give him surfactant therapy but March of Dimes is the reason behind that medical breakthrough. There were many steps forward, and just as many steps back. But he is a strong little guy and we are so thankful he is here with us today. He got to eventually go home because years ago, people walked, people donated, and people cared enough to fund the science that saved him.
Levi’s journey in the NICU is over, but our gratitude is just beginning. We march now so that every other family watching a monitor in the dark has the same hope. Please consider walking with us! The Levi League
March of Dimes is dedicated to bringing people together to tackle America's maternal and infant health crisis—one person, one community, and one step at a time. More than a series of walks, March for Babies is an annual tradition that supports moms and babies every day, every step of the way.
March for Babies connects friends, families, and coworkers to improve the health of families nationwide. Together with March of Dimes, each step forward brings us closer to a healthy future for all.
Thank you for your support!
