When Scottie was born at just 25 weeks, our whole world felt like it turned upside down. Through the incredible advancements in recent years in neonatal care, as well as wonderful and compassionate nurses, providers, and therapists, Scottie is still able to live a full life with no limitations. I want that for all babies - and I want maternal health to be taken seriously. Unfortunately, Scottie was delivered so early because my preeclampsia was not taken seriously enough. With more research and education, we can lower the numbers of moms giving birth early, and improve odds for those that are unfortunately still born prematurely.
March of Dimes is dedicated to bringing people together to tackle America's maternal and infant health crisis—one person, one community, and one step at a time. More than a series of walks, March for Babies is an annual tradition that supports moms and babies every day, every step of the way.
March for Babies connects friends, families, and coworkers to improve the health of families nationwide. Together with March of Dimes, each step forward brings us closer to a healthy future for all.
