I am so proud and grateful to work for the March of Dimes as the Manager of NICU Initiatives. Funds from March for Babies go directly to support our mission of improving the health of all moms and babies, which is now even more meaningful to me as a mom. After experiencing birth complications with both of our sons, I became even more aware of the privilege that I have in this country with access to quality healthcare. Both myself and our sons are healthy and thriving, however, that is not the case for so many moms and babies across our country. Even with all of our advancements and technology, the U.S. is still one of the most dangerous developed countries to give birth. Fundraising for March of Dimes goes directly to programs like our Mom and Baby Mobile Health Centers that provide prenatal and postpartum visits directly to moms in maternity care deserts, where they would otherwise have to drive hours to receive care. And of course the program that is most close to my heart is the one I help support, our NICU Family Support program. I have been blessed with the opportunity to walk alongside families during their NICU journey since 2018 and have seen firsthand the hardships that they face. Our March of Dimes NICU Family Support Program Coordinators provide education and support to families during one of the most difficult times in their lives. Whether it is creating fun keepsakes to celebrate a holiday, providing meals for families and NICU staff, or just simply being there to listen when a family needs support, our program coordinators go above and beyond to improve the NICU experience.
