We came together as a team to support the March of Dimes in this wonderful cause. For years, Publix has supported this fundraiser for the better of our communities and families close to home, but this year our store wants to personally contribute and raise as much as we can to show our gratitude for what they have done for our community.
While the store as a whole has their own stories to share for why they support MOD, my personal story revolves around my youngest sister. When my mom was 34 weeks pregnant with my youngest sister, she went into labor unexpectedly. My sister was in NICU for 4 weeks before she was stable enough to come home. Her lungs were underdeveloped, causing fluid to continue blocking her airways. As the middle child, it was heartbreaking and confusing why mom and dad couldn’t bring my new little sister home yet. Thanks to the March of Dimes foundation, the support my little sister received in the NICU saved her life, and she is now a happy, healthy, 14 year old girl that is full of love and life.
These stories hit so close to home, and the chances of a loved one being helped by the March of Dimes are so high. We hope you will be see the good this foundation has in store for the future generations we are creating and help us reach our goal!
