On Thursday, March 8th 2007 at 7:20 p.m. Mazie Clara Bradley made her world debut weighing in at 1 lb. 12 oz. and being 12 inches long. She was also born nearly 3 months early at only 24 weeks and 6 days of gestation. She put up a good fight (and I mean a GOOD fight), but she finally went to be with Our Father on April 5, 2007. At this time I was finally able to hold, cuddle, and lay my baby girl to rest. Her time spent here was truly a blessing from God...I recognize that He is in control, but I also attributed her life to the many talented doctors and nurses, as well as the support given by The March of Dimes. Here's to the 12th Year of remembrance for the sweet spirit that was Mazie and to acknowledge that she is forever alive and strong in our hearts.
I have chosen to support this organization because of the efforts it makes on a daily basis to find new ways to save premature babies and support their families. One immediate example of the impact March of Dimes had on Mazie is that they were responsible for the funding that provided for researchers to develop the use of surfactant during the first week of life to help preemies' lungs soften and open up. Mazie's lungs had been her primary hurdle throughout her stay in the NICU, and I know she wouldn't have done as well as she did without this assistance. I thank you for keeping our family in your thoughts and prayers as I celebrate the 16th anniversary of Mazie Clara Bradley this 8th day of March, 2022. I continue to participate in The March of Dimes walk each year to pay tribute to Mazie and all the extrodinary gifts her short existance brought to my life. I thank my good friend, Katie Moore and daughter Lily for devoting their time each year to support and accompany me on the trail. I thank you for taking the time to read my story.
On Sunday, December 29, 2013 at 7:20 a.m. I was blessed with another baby girl, Danielle Jean Bradley. I was so thankful to welcome her with joy and excitement as she was full-term (2 days past, in fact!) and perfect. How wonderful it was to experience a natural child birth without fear or sorrow. This is my prayer for ALL mothers, and so I continue to support MoD and am now sharing the experience with my beautiful Danielle, the best part of everyday!
The March of Dimes has been saving babies for decades. They have researched and developed technological advances in the NICU that has literally saved thousands of premature babies. Today in the U.S., 1 in every 8 babies will be born prematurely. Some of them won't survive, and others will have health problems that could last a lifetime. Premature birth can happen to any pregnant woman, and no one knows why. The March of Dimes is in the midst of a multi-year, multimillion-dollar campaign to address this growing problem. With your support, the March of Dimes can continue to fund research and programs to prevent premature birth and other threats to babies' health.
March of Dimes is dedicated to bringing people together to tackle America's maternal and infant health crisis—one person, one community, and one step at a time. More than a series of walks, March for Babies is an annual tradition that supports moms and babies every day, every step of the way.
March for Babies connects friends, families, and coworkers to improve the health of families nationwide. Together with March of Dimes, each step forward brings us closer to a healthy future for all.
Thank you for your support!
