I wanted to share why the March of Dimes is such a meaningful cause for me and why I’m asking for your support.
When we found out we were having a baby, I spent months getting the house ready - building the crib, painting the nursery, and imagining those first quiet weeks at home as a new dad. But that picture disappeared the moment our daughter arrived well ahead of schedule.
Instead of bringing her home, my days became a blur of hospital commutes and sitting by a NICU incubator. Seeing your newborn daughter tethered to wires and fed through a tube is a kind of helplessness I wasn’t prepared for. The NICU is a chaotic environment, but for a parent, it can also feel incredibly lonely and isolating.
As much as you try to prepare yourself for fatherhood, nothing prepares you for seeing your child fight for every breath before they were even supposed to be born.
This experience isn't unique to us, but the heartbreaking part is that in many cases, it could be preventable. That is why my family supports March of Dimes - to help create positive change, fund vital research, and ensure a healthy start for every baby.
