Care

Cynthia Weiss' daughter, Lucy, was born six and a half weeks early and spent 29 days in the NICU. Now 18 and thriving, she inspires her mom’s March of Dimes volunteer work—because, as Cynthia puts it, "not all babies are as fortunate as Lucy." Each year, Cynthia walks with both her daughters, honoring her late husband and fighting for the care that ensures healthy pregnancies.

Connect

Kasey Whilding's daughter, Olivia, spent five days in the NICU after being born with a congenital anomaly. Now, Kasey connects with supporters on the March for Babies Executive Leadership Team to help ensure every baby gets a strong start. "This is my small way of saying thank you to the organization that brought my daughter home happy and healthy," he shares.

Unite

Mom and birth justice advocate Tiffany Vassell walks each year in March for Babies, uniting her Zeta Phi Beta sisters and the Boston Public Health Commission's team while working to expand access to high-quality maternal healthcare, including midwifery care and birth centers. "Everyone should have access to respectful, supportive care that helps them not only survive, but thrive," she says.

Honor

Between the births of their twin girls and son—all born preterm and requiring NICU stays—Kellie and Jeff Powers also lost their son Luke at 23 weeks. Now, they walk each year in March for Babies. “By raising funds for March of Dimes, I'm able to honor Luke and fight for babies like him and for families like ours,” Kellie shares.

By participating in this March of Dimes event, you assume all risks related to attendance and acknowledge and consent to the event terms, including but not limited to March of Dimes' liability waiver and health and safety guidelines, as set forth in detail here.
