KIM STROUT
Kim Strout, the Chair for March for Babies Massachusetts, advocates for maternal and infant health to connect others through her personal experience with preeclampsia and preterm birth. "It's great to have support from friends, family, and community members helping moms and babies," Kim says, whose employer Cambridge Savings Bank sponsors the event.
ASHLEY TAYLOR
Ashley Taylor's daughter, Julia, was born preterm at 23 weeks and spent six months in the NICU where she received the critical care she needed to survive. Today, Ashley is a passionate advocate for March for Babies, sharing, "She's here because of March of Dimes and all that they have done with research."
ROXY ROMEO
Roxy Romeo joined March for Babies to support her daughter, Zara, born preterm at 26 weeks and cared for in the NICU. At the walk, she found an unexpected support system: "Total strangers who know what you're going through could be the biggest support," she said. "This experience has completely changed my life—it's everything."
LYNN TARINI
Lynn Tarini joined March for Babies in 2006 to honor her daughter, Mary, who passed away after birth. At her local walk, she discovered "a great opportunity to meet other families who had gone through what she had gone through". She has built meaningful, lasting friendships with people who have shared similar experiences.
CRYSTAL HAYNES COPITHORNE
Crystal Haynes Copithorne's experience during her son's birth was marked by the painful reality of racism in healthcare. As a March for Babies Ambassador Family, Crystal, along with her husband and son, hopes to unite communities in raising awareness about racial disparities in maternal health.
