Our March for Babies celebration is still on, but it looks a little different! We are rapidly preparing for a new, virtualized event that will be fun and engaging for everyone. This change in format aligns with the newly released CDC guidance for large events, to help ensure the safety and health of our participants. More details on our new format to come soon!

About March for Babies
We're getting ready to walk in March for Babies! It promises to be a fun day out with people who share our passion for improving the health of babies. Join family teams, company teams and people walking with friends for a great cause: making a difference for real families right here in our community. Sign up and raise money to help more moms have full-term pregnancies and healthy babies.

March for Babies brings people together through events across the country and online while raising critical funds to tackle America's maternal and infant health crisis—one person, one community, and one step at a time. More than a yearly walk, March for Babies is a community. Families, friends, and co-workers can connect while raising critical funds for research, education, advocacy, and programs and services so moms and babies get the best possible start. Because together, each step forward leads to a healthy future for us all. March for Babies. Every step counts!

Meet the Hale Family

On January 17, 2012, three tiny miracles came into this world. Two girls and a boy made their appearance way too early at 25 weeks and 5 days. Carter weighed 2 lbs. 2oz., and Emerson and Madeline weighed just over 1 lb. each. They were rushed upstairs to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at USA Children's and Women's Hospital with ventilators, monitors, IV's and numerous drugs. One of those critically important and life-saving drugs was Surfactant, which the March of Dimes was instrumental in procuring. Both girls needed and received Surfactant because their amniotic fluids were severely deficient for nearly 5 weeks of pregnancy. These tiny miracles were given the best care possible by an unparalleled medical team that rivals any in the country. While Madeline passed away at 4 months of age due to untreatable complications, the live saving procedures and medicines enabled her to provide her family with a lifetime of memories they will forever cherish, and saved the lives of her siblings. Today, Cater and Emerson are beautiful, health toddlers who just celebrated their third birthdays.
