We can’t count our blessings enough with Leo. Despite being born at 31 weeks, 4 days at 3 lbs. 11 oz., he never had to be on oxygen and simply had a lot of growing to do. Besides his prematurity, everything was fine. <P> Leo spent 40 days in the Special Care Nursery at Children’s Hospital in Minneapolis. We spent long days at the hospital and were very involved in his care, and cherished all of the kangaroo time we could get. We celebrated so many small milestones along the way (he gained a gram, he gained an ounce!) and developed great relationships with our nurses. We were able to bring Leo home when he was just shy of 5 lbs. <P> Leo’s now a happy, healthy almost one-year-old who continues to impress us every day. He’s a wiggly little man with a big personality. He has a mild case of hypothyroidism, otherwise, he’s nearly 20 lbs., and just about brave enough to take his first steps!
