Our March for Babies celebration is still on, but it looks a little different! We are rapidly preparing for a new, virtualized event that will be fun and engaging for everyone. This change in format aligns with the newly released CDC guidance for large events, to help ensure the safety and health of our participants. More details on our new format to come soon!

About March for Babies
We're getting ready to walk in March for Babies! It promises to be a fun day out with people who share our passion for improving the health of babies. There'll be family teams, company teams and people walking with friends - it's a great feeling knowing we're all helping real families. Join our event and walk with us to raise money for babies right here in our community!
By participating in this March of Dimes event, you assume all risks related to attendance and acknowledge and consent to the event terms, including but not limited to March of Dimes' liability waiver and health and safety guidelines, as set forth in detail here.

2017 Rochester Ambassador Liam Lighthouse
In 2015, Beth and Greg Lighthouse were eagerly awaiting the birth of their first child. Beth’s pregnancy appeared to be progressing normally, until, at 34 weeks, Liam Gregory, was born 6 weeks early, weighing just 4 pounds, 8 ounces.
The morning of June 23rd Beth woke up feeling differently and was sent to the hospital. Liam's heart rate was dropping and it soon became clear for the safety of mom and baby that Liam would be delivered early.
Liam spent 36 hours in the Special Care Nursery under close monitoring.
As a result of his premature birth, Liam has battled with severe respiratory illnesses and has been on a nebulizer daily for most of his young life.
Liam will be turning two this year and the Lighthouse family knows the significant role that March of Dimes research played in helping Liam get this far.
The Lighthouse family happily welcomed Liam’s little sister, Mila, just this year. Beth went through much more additional screening and testing with this pregnancy, and little Mila was born healthy and full term. As the 2017 Rochester Ambassador Family, they will share their story to raise awareness of premature birth and help the March of Dimes to reach the day when all babies are born strong and healthy.
