Our March for Babies celebration is still on, but it looks a little different! We are rapidly preparing for a new, virtualized event that will be fun and engaging for everyone. This change in format aligns with the newly released CDC guidance for large events, to help ensure the safety and health of our participants. More details on our new format to come soon!

About March for Babies
We walk to give EVERY BABY a fighting chance. Thank you to all our dedicated walkers, donors and volunteers who have accepted the challenge to help fight premature birth, birth defects, and infant loss. We cannot achieve our mission without each one of you! The 2017 March for Babies will highlight the strength of families affected by premature birth, birth defects, and the loss of a child, celebrate the strides we’ve made towards accomplishing our mission, and applaud the fundraising efforts of our donors. On Saturday, May 6, we will come together at The Chateau Hotel and Constitution Trail to support the March of Dimes. Our goal is to raise a total of $100,000 for a healthier future for all babies. 2017 Ambassador Luka Corrales

Lauren Corrales knew she needed to go to her doctor when at 27 weeks of pregnancy, she started having dizzy spells and abdominal pain. Luckily for the Corrales family, Lauren was diagnosed with preeclampsia in time to be monitored on bed rest until 32 weeks and 6 days, when she developed the advanced stages of the condition that required hospitalization. Lauren and her husband Gino Corrales welcomed baby boy Luka Eduardo Corrales into the world, 7 weeks early, on August 25, 2013. Luka’s early arrival was anticipated and he was immediately take to neonatal intensive care (NICU) at Children’s Hospital of Illinois, where he stayed for 22 days. Today, Luka is a happy, healthy 3-year old who loves playing soccer and reading stories. The Corraleses, Lauren, Gino and Luka, love enjoying the outdoors, watching sports, exercising and traveling together as a family of three. They are so grateful to the doctors and nurses in NICU and to the March of Dimes for the support for their preemie baby!
