Our March for Babies celebration is still on, but it looks a little different! We are rapidly preparing for a new, virtualized event that will be fun and engaging for everyone. This change in format aligns with the newly released CDC guidance for large events, to help ensure the safety and health of our participants. More details on our new format to come soon!

March With Us

Experience a feel-good morning in beautiful Balboa Park at the San Diego March for Babies. Designed for all ages and abilities, this family-friendly walk brings together strollers, friends, families, and teams united for a powerful cause.

Our scenic 1.5-mile loop takes you across the iconic Cabrillo Bridge, offering picture-perfect views of one of San Diego’s most beloved landmarks. 

Looking for a longer challenge? Simply complete the loop twice for a 5K walk, all at your own pace.

With music, kids’ activities, community partners, and an energizing event-day atmosphere, March for Babies is more than a walk it’s a celebration of hope, community, and families coming together.

Pre-walk Festivities/Kid Fun Zone: 7:30–8:30 AM

Superhero Sprint: 7:45 AM

Program: 8:30 AM

Walk Starts: 9:00 AM

Event Concludes: 10:30 AM

More than a yearly walk, March for Babies is a community. Families, friends, and co-workers can connect while raising critical funds for research, education, advocacy, and programs and services so moms and babies get the best possible start. The Stadum Family Story

Michael and Christina Stadum were ready to start a family, but their journey did not go as expected.  About 16 weeks into their first pregnancy, they received the devastating news that their baby no longer had a heartbeat.  Over the course of the next 3 years, they experienced three more unsuccessful pregnancies.   Finally, after making the decision to seek assistance through IVF, and with support from some incredible doctors and nurses, Lucas was born in 2019 and Sienna was born in 2021.  The Stadum family understands firsthand how the work March of Dimes does can positively impact families forever.  Their children are daily reminders of the importance of this cause.   Michael and Christina walk together with Lucas and Sienna, in memory of their babies lost through miscarriage, towards a brighter future for moms, babies, and families everywhere.
