About March for Babies

March for Babies is MORE THAN A WALK

When it comes to giving families the best possible start, we all have the power to help. March for Babies is an annual tradition that supports moms and babies every step of the way.

  • Together, we can ensure families have the health information and resources they need.
  • Together, we can fund groundbreaking research that transforms lives.
  • Together, we can advocate for policies that protect moms and babies.
  • Together, we can make a real impact, knowing that every donation, action, and step adds up.

March for Babies connects you with friends, families, and coworkers united to improve the health of moms and babies in your community and across the country. Because together with March of Dimes, each step forward leads to a healthy future for us all.

March for Babies. Every step counts

March for Babies brings people together through events across the country and online while raising critical funds to tackle America's maternal and infant health crisis—one person, one community, and one step at a time. More than a yearly walk, March for Babies is a community. Families, friends, and co-workers can connect while raising critical funds for research, education, advocacy, and programs and services so moms and babies get the best possible start. Because together, each step forward leads to a healthy future for us all. March for Babies. Every step counts!

The Mazza Family

When Clay and Jen learned they were expecting twins, they also learned their daughter wasn't growing as expected and that an early delivery was a real possibility. Even so, nothing could have fully prepared them for the journey ahead, particularly as first-time parents. After several days of close monitoring, the couple returned to the hospital for an emergency c-section. Kennedy and Colton arrived at just 33 weeks and were taken straight to the NICU. Twelve hours later, Jen got her first chance to visit them, reaching through the isolette to hold their tiny hands in a moment that was equal parts joy and heartbreak. Over the following weeks, the NICU became their second home. The doctors and nurses who guided them through every high and low began to feel like family. Clay and Jen learned to scrub in, navigate a tangle of cords to hold or change their babies, and decode the constant chorus of monitor beeps. They quickly discovered that this journey didn't follow a straight line. There were hard days and real setbacks, but also small victories worth celebrating: a first hold, coming off respiratory support, steady weight gain, and a full day without a brady episode. After 21 days, Colton came home. Nine days later, Kennedy followed. Throughout their time in the NICU, the March of Dimes helped make an incredibly difficult chapter a little more bearable. When Clay and Jen first walked into the twins' NICU room, colorful personalized banners bearing Kennedy's and Colton's names were waiting for them. On another morning, they arrived to find a handmade craft hanging on the wall. Small gestures, maybe, but ones that reminded this new family they weren't facing it alone. Clay, Jen, and their children, Kennedy, Colton, and Riley, are forever grateful to the dedicated medical teams and to the March of Dimes for their support during that season, and for their continued commitment to better outcomes for moms and babies everywhere.
