Our March for Babies celebration is still on, but it looks a little different! We are rapidly preparing for a new, virtualized event that will be fun and engaging for everyone. This change in format aligns with the newly released CDC guidance for large events, to help ensure the safety and health of our participants. More details on our new format to come soon!

ABOUT MARCH FOR BABIES
Thank you to everyone who joined us for March for Babies. It was a wonderful day for a walk through New York City raising awareness, critical funds and giving EVERY baby a fighting chance. It was great to see everyone enjoying our new finish line area that was festive with performances, and wonderful activities. We are grateful to all of our fundraisers, family and corporate teams, schools, community organizations and sponsors. You all made March for Babies an incredible day. Fundraising continues through JUNE 30th, so if you haven't hit your team or personal goal yet, there is still time! Your online page will remain open until the deadline to accept donations, which will count toward your fundraising prizes. You can also drop off outstanding donations to our office Monday – Friday. Please let us know that you are coming; we would love to see you!

Mari

Five years ago, we were blessed by the birth of our strong and beautiful daughter, Mariana. Mari was born too early (by 15 weeks), super tiny (at a whopping 1 pound 3 ounces, nine inches long) and very sick (too many ailments to name and many nights when it was unclear whether she’d make it). The neonatologist suggested that we not make any long-term plans. During her turbulent five-month stay at the hospital, Mari battled many life-threatening illnesses and underwent open-heart surgery. Progress came slowly and setbacks were trying. Our hearts wrenched as several other babies during those months in the NICU didn’t make it. We got accustomed to worry, but Mari’s strength inspired us. At birth Mari fit in our hands; now she is a handful and we would not have it any other way. We can barely keep up with her as she scales jungle gyms, pirouettes across the dance floor and breaks boards with her spinning snap kick. Mari is less tiny, extremely curious and resilient - not to mention loving and fun(ny). Mari leads our family in the March of Dimes walk in memory of all of her NICU mates who never made it home, to help future families and to remind us of how fortunate we are.
