2017 National Ambassador Family The Jurgens
Danielle and Her husband Joe were excited when they found out they were expecting their second child, but 12 weeks in, excitement became fear. Danielle began spotting, and their happy pregnancy, was now an at-risk pregnancy with bed rest and reduced activity. At 22 weeks, they found out they where having a daughter, which excited them but a few days later they were heading to the hospital with a fight for their daughters life.
Avery Jurgens was born weighing 1 lb 12 ounces. The Jurgens struggled with ups and downs, during a 74 day stay in the NICU. Those ups and downs have continued, in the 3 years since leaving the NICU. Avery has had countless hospital visits, physical therapy, speech therapy and other treatments. Many of these treatments and tools used to bring Avery home, where developed with March of Dimes grants. "All that she's been through, She's our rock star!" Danielle Jurgens shares with all that ask. Their story, as well as many others they have met along their journey, is why they March for Babies, with their team Avery's Rock Stars.
