Our March for Babies celebration is still on, but it looks a little different! We are rapidly preparing for a new, virtualized event that will be fun and engaging for everyone. This change in format aligns with the newly released CDC guidance for large events, to help ensure the safety and health of our participants. More details on our new format to come soon!

The Hornyak Scheanwald Family

At 20 weeks along, ultrasounds revealed that our second son was measuring weeks behind where his age indicated he should be. We tried to keep him in as long as possible, but at 29 weeks, Garrett was delivered via emergency c-section and his chances of survival were only 5-10%. Garrett William Hornyak arrived weighing only 15 oz. (that's less than a water bottle!) and measuring 10.5 inches long. Garrett spent 100 days in the NICU and he was truly a fighter the entire time. A doctor even commented once that "Garrett's the only one who doesn't realize how tiny he is!" We are so honored to share our story and participate in March for Babies because advances made through March of Dimes research saved our son's life. We love supporting an event where we are surrouded by so many people who have similar stories to ours and who are all working towards aday where fewer families have to experience what we went through.
