ABOUT THE LOCAL EVENT

 

Join us in-person on Saturday, May 6th, 2023 for the Fort Bend March for Babies at Constellation Field.  Event registration opens at 8:00am and walk starts at 9:00am inside the Stadium. Free parking.

 

Fort Bend March for Babies: A Mother of a Movement is a campaign to rally our Fort Bend community in the collective effort to transform the health of all families. 

 

Enjoy the easy 3.14 mile walk around Constellation Field, then join us at the "Block Party" with kids activities, remembrance wall, music, food and much more.

The Lacy Family

Jennifer and Willie Lacy joined the March of Dimes movement to help bring more awareness to infant loss and help create positive change for moms and babies everywhere, especially those most at risk. This cause has always been important to Jennifer and Willie, volunteering and participating at March for Babies during college. After becoming Angel Parents to Princess Ava Josephine, the work of March of Dimes has a special place in their hearts. After being diagnosed with several complex congenital heart defects just hours after birth, Ava fought hard for 6 days, and showed Mommy and Daddy just how strong she was each time she pulled through another procedure. Unfortunately, her heart wasn't strong enough to help her fully recover on her own. At just one week old, mom and dad had to say goodbye to their precious baby girl. Jennifer and Willie are committed to keeping Ava’s memory alive in any and all ways they can. Although March of Dimes is dedicated to bringing awareness to infant loss, preterm birth and maternal death rates are also continuing to rise. Together, we can all be part of a movement to make America a more equitable place and ensure that every mom and baby is healthy.
