My first son, my sweet boy, Jonathon Daniel, was born still on April 30, 2010. He was born sleeping at 39 weeks 2 days. His little heart had stopped beating due to complications with his umbilical cord. My hope is that families will not have to suffer the loss of their little ones in the future. The March of Dimes is one of the few organizations that supports research for stillbirth causes, so please help me reach my goal to help support this worthy cause. My sweet Jonathon has had such an impact on so many lives. Over the past fourteen years, many donations have been made in his memory to the March of Dimes, Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep, churches, local children at Christmas, Molly Bears, blanket drives, food drives, and more! In 2019 was asked to speak at an event, Made Known, and I was so proud to share my story and a little about my journey and how I've gone through (and continue to go through) my journey of grief and healing. I pray I was able to help others as they walk down this path.
What a BIG impact my little baby has made! My favorite lately is that his "little" brothers remember him and talk about him every day - Jeremiah, Jaxon and Joel talk about heaven and they say Jonathon is one of their best friends. I know he is watching over them, and I honestly feel that they know he takes care of them from heaven!
The March for Babies is so special to us, as it always falls on or around Jonathon's birthday! Even though the walks are in person again, I'm going to continue with our new tradition of having our own walk and participate in a virtual walk! It was so healing to have you all be able to participate - from all over the country! I ask that we all walk virtually (walk wherever you are) on Jonathon's 14th Birthday in Heaven this year - Tuesday, April 30, 2023. Please wear blue and walk in memory of our sweet boy and for all the babies! It is such a special way to celebrate and honor our sweet boy! I wish we were celebrating with a big birthday party, but I'd love to be able to celebrate with a big donation in Jonathon's honor and memory! I invite each of you to take a walk anytime on April 30 in memory of my sweet boy, and I'd love if you shared a picture. Enjoy the fresh air and remember all of the babies born straight into the arms of Jesus.
The March of Dimes supports/funds research that helped us welcome Jonathon's three little brothers into the world - Jeremiah David (August 29, 2012), Jaxon Dillon (September 16, 2014), and Joel Deacon (August 30, 2016). They are here today, thanks to the knowledge of my doctors - I know that the medical care I had during my pregnancies with Jeremiah, Jaxon, and Joel helped them arrive safely into this world! Let's make sure all babies have this chance!
I can't believe Jonathon would be turning 14!! I can't even begin to imagine the fun he'd be having. Let's make him proud as we celebrate his FOURTEENTH birthday in heaven! I love and appreciate all of you for supporting us and for remembering our sweet boy as we continue to walk this journey.
