Our hospital and the HCA Healthcare organization has joined in a partnership with the March for Babies: A Mother of a Movement campaign AND we are asking for your support!! 

WE IMAGINE A WORLD WHERE EVERY MOM AND BABY IS HEALTHY REGARDLESS OF WEALTH, RACE OR GEOGRAPHY.

The U.S. is the MOST DANGEROUS COUNTRY in the developed world to give birth! 

• 2 women will die from pregnancy-related causes today.  And every day.
• Pregnancy-related deaths have more than doubled over te past 25 years

THERE IS A HIGHER CHANCE OF MATERNAL DEATH OR PRETERM BIRTH BASED ON RACE/ETHNICITY

• Women of colorare up to 50% more likely to experience a preterm birth compared to white women.
• In the U.S. black women have maternal death rates 3x higher than women of other races or ethnicities.
• American Indian/Alaska Native women experience the second highest rates of pregnancy-related deaths

IT'S A MOTHER OF A MOVEMENT- For 50 years, the MOD has been there to end preventable preterm birth, NOW, the fight is to end preventable maternal health risk and deaths which are devastating for underserved families of color.

A Mother of a Movement underscores the indispensible role of mom, who is at the center of our mission because she and her baby are intertwines.  So March for Babies has evolved to be something bigger that unites us to fight for families who need us the most.  Today, it's more than just a fundraiser walk- it's March for Babies: A Mother of a Movement

In this country, 1 in 10 babies is born prematurely each year.  That is 380,000 babies.....one every two minutes!

Nearly half a million babies in the U.S. are born prematurely or with birth defects each year.

The mission of the March of Dimes is to lead the fight for the health of all moms and babies.  They're empowering families with the knowledge and tools they need to have healthier pregnancies.  The funds we raise throught March for Babies are used for research, community health services and educational programs that support healthy moms and strong babies!
