Why we continue to March for Babies

Each year 1 in 10 babies is born prematurely in the U.S. Premature babies face serious lifelong medical and developmental issues.

Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. is proud to be a national partner with the March of Dimes. Every year Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. and its affiliates (Philos and Rhoers) participate in March for Babies to raise funds that are used to sponsor research, provide education on prematurity to the communities that we serve, as well as medical services and support to families with premature babies.

Through Project CRADLE Care, Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. and the March of Dimes collaborate to address the issues that adversely affect Black women and their children ranging from chronic physiological stressors and underlying health conditions to structural racism and implicit biases in our healthcare system. 

We are asking that you join us in in the march to "Fight for the Health Of All Moms & Babies" as part of "A Mother of A Movement". Just click the "Join This Team" button. You do not have to be a Sorority sister to join our team. All are welcome. If you can’t walk with us please help by donating to our team. We are excited to contribute in person, virtually, and will have an information table for 2025's walk at for Moms and Babies at this year's march at Unity Park on April 25, 2025. We appreciate any and all support to our campaign, celebrating over 100 years of Greater Service, Greater Progress.
