Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Inc and members of Gamma Zeta, in recognition of our 100 years of being community-conscious and action-oriented, we must continue to lead the way to end a difficult situation. The March of Dimes and Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. are challenged to do one-step better than last year - one more dollar, one more visit to the NICU, one more opportunity to encourage a first-time Mom or Dad and one more time on this side of Zeta's 100 years of scholarship, service, sisterhood and finer womanhood to break records!
Why We Walk:
Babies born to black women in the US are nearly 1.5 times as likely to be born too soon compared to babies born to white women.
More than 1 in 8 black infants are born prematurely compared to 1 in 10 for all babies.
In 2015 in the US, the preterm birth rate among black women was 13.4 percent, compared to the national average of 9.6 percent.
The goal for Gamma Zeta is $4,500. To reach this goal, we need your support. Please invite your families, friends and colleges to walk with us. Your gift funds programs in our community that help moms have healthy, full turn pregnancies and supports research to find answers to the problems that threatens our babies. Thank you and we look forward to having you on our team!! Please contact team captain, Jacqueline townsend, if you need more information.
March of Dimes is dedicated to bringing people together to tackle America's maternal and infant health crisis—one person, one community, and one step at a time. More than a series of walks, March for Babies is an annual tradition that supports moms and babies every day, every step of the way.
March for Babies connects friends, families, and coworkers to improve the health of families nationwide. Together with March of Dimes, each step forward brings us closer to a healthy future for all.
Thank you for your support!
