Imagine having a pregnancy of no morning sickness and minimal discomfort to all of a sudden on a Tuesday afternoon scheduling an appointment because you are having a little pain and discharge and then being told by the doctor, “you are being admitted because you are delivering at least one of these babies TODAY”.
This was our reality on 2/22/22 following 4 years, 2 countries, 8 rounds of IUI, 2 surgeries, 4 embryos and 1 IVF procedure. The babies were 22 weeks.
After being in trendelenburg (IYKYK) for 5 days, our beautiful twins could not wait any longer to be introduced to the world but they had to be different by being delivered on 2 different days AND being delivered “en caul”! Hudsyn and Hayden made it to the NICU and with the amazing help of the Medical City Plano staff, we had 7 days to be with Hayden and then when we put all hope and prayer into Hudsyn, 7 days later she joined her brother.
What we know is that if not for the amazing family we obtained at Medical City Plano (Antepartum, Postpartum and NICU) as well as the babies receiving surfactant respiratory treatment, these two would not have had a chance at life. We are so blessed and thankful that the March of Dimes helped discover this wonderful treatment because, although not long enough, we were able to witness and be with our 2 bundles of joy.
On April 27, it’s our 3rd annual walk to honor them and show gratitude for the March of Dimes. This time will be EXTRA special as we will be accompanied by our new blessing as of 8/8/23 after 40 hours of labour, Ari Ellersyn. <3
With preterm birth rates continuing to rise, the U.S. remains among the most dangerous developed nations for childbirth, especially for women and babies of color.
At March for Babies™ you're lifting up communities, creating connections and taking action to make America a more equitable place and ensure that every mom and baby is healthy.
Together, we’re marching to raise funds and awareness to transform the health of all families!
