This year, I’m marching for someone incredibly special — my cousin Kelby.
Kelby came into this world fighting. Born with severe cerebral palsy, he spent nearly two weeks in the NICU, facing challenges most of us can hardly imagine. But from day one, he proved he was stronger than every expectation placed on him. The team name, Kelby's Korner, comes from the name created for his space during his time in the NICU which became decorated with cards, gifts, and items of hope from those cheering on his fight.
This year’s walk is especially meaningful because it falls on Kelby’s 38th birthday — a milestone that reflects not only his resilience, but the love, care, and support that helped him thrive. Kelby is a true fighter, a music lover with the brightest spirit, and someone who brings joy and light to every person lucky enough to know him.
I’m raising funds in honor of Kelby, his mom, dad, and siblings, and in support of all the moms, babies, and families who face their own battles in the NICU. March of Dimes helps ensure every baby gets the strongest start possible — and stories like Kelby’s remind me why this mission matters so much.
