As my sweet Angel, Arwen turns 18 years old this summer I can’t help and think about all the things the “could have been”. Missing her first tooth, first steps, all the first day of school moments & picture's, going to prom, getting her drivers license, going off to college….
I never knew that when my family and I joined our first walk with March of Dimes March for Babies in 2010 it would change our lives forever. I have met some amazing people along the way and have been able to share my story with others and also listen to their stories that are a lot like my own.
Each year brings lots of emotions…remembering my pregnancy with Arwen and how excited my son, EJ was and knowing he would be a big brother! But despite the sadness of Arwen’s passing after 11 days of birth almost 18 years ago it has brought me here with March of Dimes March for Babies and helping out moms and babies have a chance at life!
This will be the last year for Team ARWEN…it’s closing a chapter in our lives and it will be bittersweet. I never thought I’d be here 14 years ago but it’s been an awesome experience that I will always be a part of me.
Please join Team ARWEN on May 4th (Star Wars Day) at the Woodland Park Zoo…the event will start a little later this year at 9:30AM…admission is FREE so bring your family, neighbors, coworkers & all your friends!!! Hope to see you all there.
